La Fujifilm FinePix S2950 is digital camera with a a14 megapixels sensor and a stabilized 18X optical zoom lens, equivalent to 28-504mm. This model which is relatively compact and has an ergonomic design, allows an excellent grip and is equipped with a large  LCD display and a small electronic viewfinder.

The S2950 allows full manual control of settings and of white balancing, i.e. the two things that are slowly disappearing from the modern ultra-zoom cameras. This digital camera allows also to record 720p HD videos at 30 FPS, which is now the norm among CCD-based cameras.

“The Fujifilm FinePix S2950 is a great product, thanks to the long list of offered features.It includes a stabilized wide-angle lens with 18X optical zoom, it allows full manual control of all functions, it provides spot metering, it has a shutter speed that allows up to 1 / 2000s, it adopts an electronic viewfinder and allows recording of HD videos, all for under $ 200 USD, is truly exceptional.

It also runs on AA batteries which are readily available and uses the SDHC memory card, which is the least expensive type of flash memory, keeping its total cost of ownership very low. While the performances of the S2950 are convenient for general photography with subjects relatively in good light, certainly it cannot be compared to a series of cameras with similar features, used in conditions of challenging lighting. But since most of its competitors cost about twice as much, this not exceptional quality can be easily understood.There are other Fujifilm cameras in the catalog which have a lot more performance, such as the HS20 EXR, but you must be willing to pay a significantly higher price.

Another advantage of the Fujifilm FinePix S2950 is its simplicity and ergonomics. This digital camera can be used really well and its controls are simple and, for the most part, pretty direct. Additionally, the DSLR-fashioned style and EVF give excellent stability when shooting towards the end of the long zoom.
